COURSE MODULES

CUAWRT301 Write content for a range of media

Different writing styles are used in different forms of media. This module examines the skills and knowledge required to write content for a range of purposes and platforms, from social to web, radio and television.

CUAPPM312 Plan and prepare program content 

Planning and preparation are critical to the success of all broadcast media programs, whether radio, podcasting or internet/tv broadcasting. This module explores the knowledge and skills required to identify and plan content requirements, collating and curating content, and finalising it according to production requirements.

CUAPOS211 Perform basic vision and sound editing

When creating content from different source material, pre-preparation of it is a fundamental step in the editing process. This module explores the activities involved along with basic editing according to production requirements.

CUADIG304 Create visual design components

Learn how to create visual design components for interactive media. Used across and integrated within many different media channels, this unit is designed to help individuals who generate and assess ideas to create visual design components.

CUAIND311 Work effectively in the creative arts industry (Core)

Developing and maintaining relationships and knowledge are critical success factors for working effectively in the creative arts industry, and is relevant to people in a range of occupations. These skills are particularly relevant in the role of a content creator.

CUAWHS312 - Apply work health and safety practices (Core)

Knowing work health and safety requirements, implementing safe work practices and participating in risk assessment and control are critical for a safe and reliable workplace.

CUAWRT302 Write simple stories

Simple and effective storytelling is an important skill set to learn. This is particularly the case when writing in different styles for content across different media channels. This module examines how to write simple stories for a wide range of content, using linear and non-linear structures.

CUAAIR211 Develop techniques for presenting information on-air

Effective communication delivery requires the ability to use different vocal delivery techniques. This module explores the skills and knowledge required to deliver communicate using different techniques, and is relevant for content creators who record scripted content or present programs live-to-air.

CUACAM311 Shoot material for screen productions

This module provides the knowledge and skills to plan, shoot and wrap a camera shoot according to production requirements, using a variety of equipment across camera, audio and lighting.

BSBSTR401 Promote innovation in team environments

Learn how to identify and implement innovation development activities within the workplace in a team setting. This unit will help you develop and hone your skills in innovation activities, and provide a framework to analyse retrospectively the activities you’ve undertaken.

BSBCRT311 Apply critical thinking skills in a team environment (Core)

Generating solutions to workplace problems requires both creative and critical thinking skills. This module explores the skills and knowledge required to apply these skills within a team environment.

In a purpose built modern training facility in Parramatta, the Learn to Film studio includes dedicated areas to shoot and edit video content, along with a podcasting studio to record either pre-recorded or live podcasts.
