Academy of Media launches career-ready content creator course, Create Great
The Australian Academy of Media (RTO 45017) has launched an industry-leading training program, Create Great, to equip individuals with the skills they need to launch their own content creation careers.
Create Great, offered in partnership with leading production studio and school, Learn to Film, and supported by mentors from across the industry, is designed for career hungry individuals eager to turn their passion for content creation into a full-time career.
In just 18 weeks, participants will enjoy practical hands-learning at Learn to Film studios and gain content creation skills across storytelling, planning, producing, shooting video content, recording podcasts, editing, and digital design.
In addition, this program includes training on the importance of understanding Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander cultural practices when it comes to creating content in Indigenous communities. Luke Briscoe, a proud Kuku-Yalanji man, will mentor students on Indigenous community engagement and protocols when working with First Nations people.
Luke Briscoe said:
“It really is important for content creators to understand the impact a lack of understanding of Indigenous protocols play when producing content, and what pitfalls to avoid as a non-Indigenous producer”.
Participants will also enjoy product demonstrations and will develop their own portfolio as part of the program too.
Scott Sparks, Creative Director and mentor said:
“Unfortunately, a lot of content that’s served up isn’t well made or thought out and so often falls a bit flat - especially for small businesses. Mostly because the individuals making the content haven’t had the training or education in some of the basic fundamentals of content creation or film making. With expert industry tuition you can create great content, film and career opportunities.”
On successful completion, not only will participants hold a nationally recognised CUA31020 Certificate III in Screen and Media qualification through the Create Great program, they’ll have worked on real world briefs and had bucketloads of fun too.
Founder and CEO of The Australian Academy of Media, Jemima McGilvery said:
“There’s no doubt about it, this is Australia’s best content creator course by far. In consultation with industry, we’ve designed this course for today’s versatile content creator – whether they’re shooting video or recording a podcast, this course provides the tools that emerging content creators need to kickstart or elevate their careers in the industry.
“As the only course of its kind in Australia, we’re pumped at the opportunity to bring this to life with the team at Learn to Film, and all of the outstanding industry mentors who are going to offer so much value to participants studying with us.”
Founder and CEO of Learn to Film and mentor, Helal Shmeissem said:
“The tuition is built around real experts teaching from real experiences.
“Learn to Film’s in-class sessions consist of industry veterans demonstrating real life scenarios to recreate the perfect shot or produce a quality podcast. The partnership between The Australian Academy of Media and Learn to Film is something the industry has probably needed for some time now.
“A collaboration of both detailed online tuition and intense face-to-face training is everything a student will need to get job ready in this space.”
Classes kick off on Monday 17th October 2022 in Sydney.
